Beautiful dark blue baule cloth
The geometric weaving has been used to make an abstract pattern with stripes and lines
Shown on a queen size bed, could be used as a wall hanging, throw or bedspread
Aproximately 92x69"
This was purchased at an estate auction in Northern Florida. It is part of an extensive textile collection that belonged to a diplomat who lived in Japan for many years in the 1950s and then the Ivory Coast in the 1960s. The quantity and quality of fabrics and accessories is one not often seen.
I am by no means an expert in fabric. I have done my best to describe and identify the items. I have reached out to people with more knowledge than me when possible.
