    Description

This is the gorgeous 15.5 inch Gene Marshall doll "Bird of Paradise" from Mel Odom's 1997 collection. She is wearing the ultimate showgirl's ensemble, (1949 era) featuring elaborate crystal beadwork over a flesh-toned net bodysuit. Multiple swags of beads, from the hips, are eye catching, as her bracelet actually hooks to the outfit and creates a beautiful "cascade" of beads which are highlighted with accents of gathered pale pink tulle. Her turban is done up with lavender iridescent fabric, which is festooned with crystal drops. She wears matching spangled hosiery and shoes. This doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. She does NOT have her COA, and comes to you in her original outfit, with her wrist tag. (The feathers on her turban are missing she does need to be cleaned as I see some surface dirt so I am sure that she has been displayed). Thanks for looking.
