ANTIQUE JAPANESE PRINT YOUNG MAN ON ENGAWA (PORCH), SEAL 弘 of NAKAZAWA HIROMITSU, FRAMED
Beautiful woodblock print in artisan frame showing a scene from
Heian Period:
a Japanese man, most probably a local governmental officer in traditional attire (blue hakama pants) sitting on the porch (engawa) of traditional Japanese home. He is seemingly fixing the rail of the fence of the porch with some silk white ribbon.
There's no artist's signature but there is a seal, consisting of two Japanese characters, 弘 in the rectangular frame. This seal, that reads 'Hiro' or 'Hiroshi' (with no signatures) was used by famous Japanese artist,
