Description
A Kakiemon Teapot
Edo period (late 17th century)
The decagonal lobed teapot and cover decorated in iron-red, blue, green, yellow and black enamels with two birds perched in a branch amongst flowers and foliage, lappets to the neck and shoulder, the wide rounded handle and the short curved spout with
karakusa
and yellow flowers, the fitted cover similarly decorated, the finial in shape of a flower bud.

Overall Condition handle restuck where they are attacged to body with repainting. Lid with 1 small flint. Pot with 1 small chip inside rim. Size 145mm handle to spout and 80mm high
