    Description

    Maker
: This set of 4 exquisite antique tea or dessert plates is almost certainly Japanese in origin.
    Design
: The design and the quality of the porcelain suggest that the set was made in Japan in the late 1800s or the early part of the 20th century. It features detailed white flowers outlined in gold against a dusty green background accented with red and gold petals. The porcelain is thin and translucent, with a slight greyish tinge that is typical of Japanese porcelain of that era.
The plates are somewhat unevenly shaped, also suggesting the late 19th or early 20th century. But because they are unmarked, their age and origin are not confirmed.
    Size
    :
    The plates are
6 3/8 inches wide and together weigh 1
    pounds 9 ounces.
    Condition
: The set is in excellent condition - especially for its probable age and fragile material - with no nicks, cracks, scratches, stains, repairs, discoloration or significant wear. There is a small chip on the edge of one plate - it's shown in the photo with the penny.
Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
